Rachel got offered an audition for a “Funny” Broadway show, and Blaine is hellbent on getting back with Kurt, even if it takes a grand gesture like a marriage proposal to get him there. We weren’t sure they were gonna get to the altar, what with Emma’s cold feet and accidental liplock with Finn. Sadly, with Cory Monteith’s passing a Finn-Rachel reunion can never be.Īs Season 4 wrapped, we finally got the big Will and Emma wedding we’d been waiting for. Fichel fell apart and while Finn goes searches for himself, Rachel briefly dates her classmate Brody. (Wouldn’t you?) But the boys fell back into bed other over Valentine’s Day, and started reconnecting emotionally shortly thereafter.ģ.
Then Kurt briefly dated an older NYADA student, Adam, while Blaine crushed on Sam. Klaine went off the rails when Blaine cheated on Kurt with a Facebook hookup (ew!). Brittana ended and Brittney moved on to dating Sam, before eventually leaving for early admission to MIT (to accommodate Heather Morris’ departure). Santana, meanwhile, moved in with Kurt and Rachel and got started on her life in New York City.Ģ.
Season 4 also featured lots of breakups: Finn and Rachel, Kurt and Blaine, and Santana and Brittney all called it quits, and only one even has the possibility of reuniting in Season 5.ġ. We also met Kitty Wilde, the new cheerio who, in Quinn’s absence, meddles with everyone even as she battles her own demons. Ryder notably got Catfished last season by Unique, a trans student transfer and one of the most enjoyable recent additions to the choir room. Jake was involved in a love tri-quad-angle with other newcomers like Marley, who suffers from low self-esteem and an eating disorder, and Ryder, the most recent football-star-turned-gleek. In their absence we met a ton of new characters, especially in Lima: Puck’s little brother, Jake, took up the bad-boy crown as Puck transitioned from regular character to recurring. Or disappeared from view-like Mike Chang off to dance school and Mercedes off to L.A, returning only for occassional guest spots. Other graduates either struggled to find their place, like Finn and his disastrous turn at the army and slightly-better attempts at running New Directions in Mr. Kurt, after some urging from Blaine, quickly joined her-snagging an internship at Vogue and a second chance at NYADA enrollment.
Rachel started off the new year as a little fish in the big pond of New York City. Don’t worry, Gleeks: We’re going to run you through a quick recap of the last season, which was all about growing up. So you can be forgiven if you’ve forgotten who’s still pining for whom, who’s dreams have been crushed, or who Marley Rose is. Glee returns to Fox tonight at 9pm, but it’s been months since Season 4 wrapped in May.
